This Week's Message:
Although we’ve begun to enter the season of Autumn, it’s “Springtime” at St. Catherine’s! I willingly embrace this image because so much life is returning to the parish following the typical summer hiatus. Last Sunday, our younger members returned to their catechism classes in preparation for reception of the sacraments next Spring. Last Sunday night, Ignite Youth Ministry held their first gathering following the summer break, meeting the parish’s new Coordinator of Youth and Family Ministry, Ashley Vaeth. “Good, good, good vibrations” came from the return to parish life by those interested young women and men. Deacon Joe says that he has a new group of RCIA interested adults about to begin class after the summer pause. The Parish Council met last Monday night to report on the plan to survey local authorities on what the parish might offer to serve the larger Largo community. And, we anxiously await the first phalanx of our winter parishioners, aka the “snowbirds” to return to their Florida “Capistrano”. Soon we will be on “cruise control” for all these opportunities to deepen faith and serve the parish our people love. God is good! So are the parishioners of St. Catherine’s and these are months of grace for me.
